Jed Sires is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sound Investment Strategies, where he works with individuals and families to build thoughtful financial plans and disciplined investment strategies aligned with their long-term goals and values. As a CFP® professional, Jed emphasizes process over prediction, helping clients navigate uncertainty with clarity and intention.

Jed began his career in the financial services industry in 2001 and founded Sound Investment Strategies in 2006. With nearly 25 years of experience, he brings a steady, fiduciary approach to portfolio management and financial planning, focused on sound decision-making rather than short-term market outcomes.

Outside of his professional work, Jed is actively involved with his family and community. His oldest daughter is in high school and competes in track, while his younger daughter is in middle school and enjoys playing soccer. After work, Jed can often be found at the track running sprints — sometimes on his own, and often alongside his daughters — or working with his younger daughter on the soccer field.

Jed remains active in his local church and serves on the board of Prisoners for Christ, an organization he has supported through both leadership and international prison ministry visits. When time allows, he still enjoys hiking in the Cascade Mountains and spending time outdoors with his family.

Stephen Guss began his professional career in the financial services industry in 1985 with AG Edwards becoming a Hedging Specialist. Five years later he joined Piper Jaffray as a Vice President. In 1992, he affiliated with Century Securities, a division of Stifel Nicolaus, managing an independent office until 2006. He is a founding partner of Sound Investment Strategies (SIS).

Steve’s brings comprehensive knowledge of equities, bonds, options and commodities. He has extensive life experience in corporate finance and the meat industry.

Steve and his wife Elizabeth are both active community volunteers in the arts, environment and social services. They have two adult children. From their home on Whidbey Island they share a beautiful and changing view of the Saratoga Passage.
